Sant Josep, in south-west Ibiza, brings together some of the island's most spectacular underwater scenery: the protected surroundings of Es Vedrà, the Es Freus reserve towards Formentera and access to the largest wreck in the Balearics, the Don Pedro. Its seabeds alternate vertical walls, caves and vast posidonia meadows in very clear water, in a municipality stretching from Cala Tarida to Es Cubells.
The Don Pedro is a cargo ship about 142 metres long sunk off the port of Ibiza, lying between 26 and 46 metres deep. It is the largest diveable wreck in the Balearics and, due to its depth, is reserved for Advanced and technical divers.
Yes, with valid certification and through centres authorised by the Balearic Government. Es Freus, between Ibiza and Formentera, protects one of the oldest and most extensive posidonia meadows on the planet, in extraordinarily clear water.
Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell are part of a protected natural area; dives are done through authorised centres that manage access, not independently. They offer beautiful vertical walls and caves.
There are options for everyone: try dives and courses in sheltered coves such as Cala Tarida, and advanced wreck and wall dives (Don Pedro, Es Vedrà) for Advanced-certified divers or above.
