Northern gateway to the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve, between the Montgó and the sea. Dives set off from Les Rotes to sites such as El Fresquito, La Cullerá or the Cova Tallada, with Posidonia, corals, groupers, octopus and moray eels. A very touristy area with several PADI and SSI centers.

Frequently asked questions about diving in Dénia

Do I need a permit to dive the Cabo de San Antonio reserve?

Yes. It is a marine reserve and dives inside it require authorisation, arranged by the dive center; you cannot dive the protected area independently.

Where do the dives depart from?

Many routes leave from the Les Rotes area in Dénia towards sites such as El Fresquito, La Cullerá or the Cova Tallada, within and around the reserve.

What level is required?

There are shallow sites fine for try-dives and Open Water level at Les Rotes, plus deeper reserve sites recommended for experienced divers.

What marine life can I see?

Posidonia meadows, corals, groupers, octopus, moray eels, dentex and, in season, dolphins around the cape.
